Because we are a new and small organization with limited capacity, we wanted to focus on our other areas of programming, but early on, we found that we had to step into this area of work because of the need and demand for interpretation services. With time, this area of work has changed and transformed based on our funding opportunities that have allowed us to step into a larger scale of direct service.
USDA GRANT
Casa Azul de Wilson is very proud to be one of eleven organizations in North Carolina that are part of the The USDA Farm and Food Workers Relief Program with The Hispanic Federation. The U.S. Department of Agriculture USDA’s Farm and Food Workers Relief Program (FFWR) provides a one-time, $600 payment for expenses incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Casa Azul is the single organization that is distributing the largest amount of financial relief in the state of North Carolina through our partner Hispanic Federation. We are distributing over 1.8 million dollars back into the community, who are essential workers and put food on our tables.
